The Dynasty everyone thought couldn’t be stopped has started 1-2. Losing KD, Iggy, Livingston, and Klay to injury has hurt the team. In the KD sign and trade the Warriors were able to get D’Angelo Russell. Everyone, including me, thought that this team would be unstoppable. Well that isn’t the case. Yes, it is still early, but this combo of Curry and D’Lo doesn’t work. Offensively or Defensively. So here are 6 teams that could trade for Guard D’Angelo Russell.
#1 Minnesota Timberwolves
T-Wolves Receive: PG D’Angelo Russell and a 2020 2nd Round Pick
Warriors Receive: SF/SG Andrew Wiggins and SF Robert Covington
For both teams this makes sense. Wiggins has struggled with the T-Wolves and Covington would be filthy good off the Warriors bench. D’Lo and T-Wolves Center Karl Anthony-Towns (KAT) are best friends. This would be prefect for both teams.
#2 Detroit Pistons
Pistons receive: PG D’Lo, C Willie Cauley-Stein, and a 2020 2nd round pick
Warriors receive: C Andre Drummond, PG Derrick Rose, and SG Luke Kennard
I think this is a fair trade for both sides. Gives the Warriors a true center, a great backup PG, and a good SG. Starting lineups for both teams would be.
#3 Phoenix Suns
Suns Receive: PG D’Lo and (swaps 1st with GSW)
Warriors Receive: SF Kelly Oubre Jr, PF Dario Saric, and (swaps 1st with PHX)
D’Lo and Devin Booker are also best friends. So the Suns would likely do this trade. The Warriors would do it because they get a good SF and a solid backup PF. It provides bench depth for the Warriors and the suns future PG.
#4: Miami Heat
Heat Receive: PG D’Lo, C Willie Cauley-Stein, and a 2020 2nd Round Pick
Warriors Receive: SG Dion Waiters, C Bam Adebayo,PF James Johnson, 2021 1st Round Pick
This would be a great trade for both sides. The Miami Heat get another player to help Jimmy Butler. The Warriors get 2 vets to help their depth and a young center.
#5 Milwaukee Bucks
Bucks Get: PG D’Lo and (swap 2020 1st with GSW)
Warriors Get: SF Khris Middleton and (swap 2020 1st with MIL)
This trade makes a lot of sense because the Warriors would get a SF who would fit their team. The Bucks would get a young PG to play next to Giannis.
#6 Philadelphia 76ers
76ers Receive: PG D’Lo and (swap 2020 1st with GSW)
Warriors Receive: SF Tobias Harris and (swap 2020 1st with 76ers)
This makes sense because the 76ers need another shooter. Simmons can run SF for them, while D’Lo runs PG. Warriors also get Harris. Which helps them at their gap at SF.
